The new economic model

It meets both philosophic advances promoted by New Atlantis and a number of needs they collectively had, including;-

• Switching further to the commissioning model that has now been proven to work well
• Allowing more commissioned providers to be recruited
• Splitting out much of the development that has been done and allowing more people to join in the wealth creation and be rewarded by becoming partners in them
• Developing a wider range of new enterprises, to generate wealth for yet more people
• Developing the barter system, used by some clubs across all clubs and service providers
• Developing and regulating a series of exchanges

From a New Atlantis family viewpoint the split of roles between New Atlantis, the non profit organization and us is clearer. New Atlantis is concentrating on the philosophy and virtual kingdom, while we concentrate on other real world activities, and the WorldWide Library has an increased role in the distribution of information, shared with The Knowledge Network. 

Of these the most noticeable changes, started by the movement before to service providers, was the move away from relying on a small group of overworked volunteers, and the opening up to a wider group of people, the benefits of belonging or working with the New Atlantis family of organizations.

Unlike the first stage commissioning model we were involved in before the above changes came in, our role is not to undertake the organization and provision directly, but to use the philosophy we have promoted and further commission others to provide these services on behalf of all.

Under the new economic model the range of activities we are responsible for has increased enormously, but through commissioning and franchising,  we can achieve this now taking on a role more of controlling quality, commissioning, regulating and acting as registrar, as well as some organizational activities.

Another change has been the separation, as far as we can, of overlapping conflicts of interest, with more emphasis on franchising to organizations with the interest of participants at its heart.

Most other organizations and clubs are registered in either the USA or UK, or are NA trusts or NA trust partnerships.
